La Tania, Nestled in the forest

La Tania is nestled in between the two major resorts of Courchevel and Méribel in the Northern Alps and was originally built in 1992 for the Olympic Games, as a satellite resort for Courchevel. La Tania has become one of the best value resorts for all the family both in winter and in summer. The architecture in the resort consists mainly of traditional style chalets with a few apartment blocks built to blend in with the forest backdrop. La Tania is ideal for families; the pedestrianised centre of the resort has a strong sense of community and offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Activities include hiking, cycling, roller-blading and swimming; with pony rides and a children’s’ club for younger members of the family. La Tania offers a lot of water-based activities such as rafting, hydrospeed and canyoning for those more adventurous holidaymakers. The beautiful landscape is ideal for rambling and hiking. For those who wish to travel around, you can visit the resorts of Courchevel, Méribel and Val Thorens which all make up the 3 Valleys ski area, or the towns of Moûtiers and Albertville. There is also access to the National Parks of la Vanoise and les Ecrins, havens for wildlife and mountain animals. In terms of travel, there are many airports offering flights to the area. Flights from London to the altiports at Courchevel and Méribel are the quickest means of access, but they are only operate at weekends. Otherwise, domestic flights to Chambéry-Aix leave you with only 2 hours transfer time to the resort, whilst flights to Geneva, St Etienne and Lyon mean you have at least 3 ½ hours transfer to the resort. By rail, a TGV from Paris to Moûtiers takes about 3 hours and a regular shuttle bus will take you to the resort. By car, you need the A43 motorway until you get to Albertville then take the RN90 to Moûtiers.

Staff in the shop were excellent, very customer friendly. Skis and boots were new and very good quality.
Lowest price found on the web!

Will definetly book ski hire through this website again.

Shop was very crowded on collection date and didn't have a good selection of advanced skis. Also when we tried to swap the skis later in the week we had to pay an additional fee. Overall dissapointed with service and quality of equipment.

Ordered most expensive skis so expected them to be almost new and in good condition. They had very few in my length and the ones I hired were very old though well serviced. Mid week when conditions changed I went back and the shop were happy to swap my skis. The second pair were much more of the quality I had expected initially. I have since discovered that when you order Internet discounted skis the choice doesn't include the shop's highest range of ski, something which Best Price website does not make clear. So a bargain price but not the high quality skis expected but shop staff very pleasant and the skis did the job.

[Best-Price-Ski-Rental.com: When you book through Best Price Ski Rental, you get the same ski range as the one in the shop. However poor snow conditions might play a role: with thin snow, new equipment is not the 1st one rent. ]

Ski Higher have been consistently good in their service over the years. The quality of their skis for hire has been altogether satisfactory. Provided Best Price Ski Rental remain price-competitive, I see no reason to go in future to any other ski hire outlet in La Tania.

The staff was very helpful. After one run I knew I had asked for too light of a ski and immediately they gave me a stiffer, better one. Peak times have long queues for pick-up and return so go as early as possible. Best price for sure.

Only negative about the whole process was the fiasco on saturday nights instore to get the skis. WHilst I understand this is the busiest time, with only 2 points for adjusting skis, we waited about an hour to be seen. Everything else was great though.
