La Tania, Nestled in the forest

La Tania is nestled in between the two major resorts of Courchevel and Méribel in the Northern Alps and was originally built in 1992 for the Olympic Games, as a satellite resort for Courchevel. La Tania has become one of the best value resorts for all the family both in winter and in summer. The architecture in the resort consists mainly of traditional style chalets with a few apartment blocks built to blend in with the forest backdrop. La Tania is ideal for families; the pedestrianised centre of the resort has a strong sense of community and offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Activities include hiking, cycling, roller-blading and swimming; with pony rides and a children’s’ club for younger members of the family. La Tania offers a lot of water-based activities such as rafting, hydrospeed and canyoning for those more adventurous holidaymakers. The beautiful landscape is ideal for rambling and hiking. For those who wish to travel around, you can visit the resorts of Courchevel, Méribel and Val Thorens which all make up the 3 Valleys ski area, or the towns of Moûtiers and Albertville. There is also access to the National Parks of la Vanoise and les Ecrins, havens for wildlife and mountain animals. In terms of travel, there are many airports offering flights to the area. Flights from London to the altiports at Courchevel and Méribel are the quickest means of access, but they are only operate at weekends. Otherwise, domestic flights to Chambéry-Aix leave you with only 2 hours transfer time to the resort, whilst flights to Geneva, St Etienne and Lyon mean you have at least 3 ½ hours transfer to the resort. By rail, a TGV from Paris to Moûtiers takes about 3 hours and a regular shuttle bus will take you to the resort. By car, you need the A43 motorway until you get to Albertville then take the RN90 to Moûtiers.

Nécessaire de devoir argumenter très longtemps pour avoir un équipement qui correspond réellement à la classe réservé
Néanmoins après une longue discussion, effort commercial fourni et équipement fourni tout à fait satisfaisant, mais il est complétement anormal de devoir réclamer autant pour avoir ce qui a été payé (ski de classe diamant), le matériel étant réservé et payé à l'avance sur internet, on s'attend à ce qui soit disponible le moment venu.

Globalement la tania= station low cost au niveau service et équipement considérant que les prix sont plutot basé sur ceux de courchevel proche fréquentée essentiellement par des groupes étranger ayant réservé des packages tout compris et qui ne s'aperçoive même pas que la qualité n'est pas au rendez-vous, sauf pour le domaine skiable des 3 vallées biens sûr
La tania est une station d'investisseur dont le but est uniquement de maximiser les profits sans offrir le service correspondant au niveau logement, équipement et infrastructure

I cannot recall the charges and I have not kept a record. However your charges for skis was considerably cheaper than the shops. The service given in the shop was excellent. I have no complaints and I would not hesitate to recommend your services

L'équipe du magasin est efficace, à l'écoute, et sympatique. Même en cas d'affluence, ça avance bien !
Petit bémol, j'étais un peu déçu par les skis "haut de gamme" que j'avais pris, car il étaient un peu abîmés, mais rien de bien grave !
Je recommande donc ce magasin, ainsi que la station qui reste de taille humaine, et dans la forêt !

took 3 attempts to find skis that suited me and the changeable conditions, but staff at Ski Higher were friendly, helpful and changed them without problem. Good ski resort too!

Skishop staff very helpful and changed things that weren't working for the hirer. Some equipment could have been newer - eg my boots. Website quite easy to use but I recall that it was not totally intuitive. Overall - would use again and recommend.

Had no problem navigating the website. The resort is part of the 3 valleys but has more character than its larger brothers and sisters.

Service in the ski shop was friendly and excellent and they were very co-operative when i wished to change my boots half-way through the week

skis were well prepared and high(ish) standard too
